KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 16
The European Union (EU) has endorsed €2 million in humanitarian aid for Nepal to assist those affected by the recent earthquake.
The EU has approved the aid package for shelter, access to clean water, sanitation, healthcare, and other services in the areas impacted by the recent Jajarkot earthquake, as stated by the EU Delegation to Nepal.
The support package comprises €600,000 to aid the efforts of humanitarian partners already providing assistance in the affected areas.
Additionally, €200,000 has been allocated to the Nepal Red Cross Society through the Disaster Response Emergency Fund of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), according to the EU delegation.
In addition to the financial contribution, the EU will mobilize in-kind assistance from its European Humanitarian Response Capacity, valued at €1.2 million.
